WEBSITE UPDATES CONTINUE:
It was recently deiscovered that several of the links on the Project 814 web site had been moved or deleted. Our webmaster is working fevorishly to rectify this situation. We apologize for any trouble this may have caused. Also, several of the Project 814 pages have been modified with new information. Be sure to visit often to stay up to date with happenings from Project 814, Declassified Records, Disguise The Limit and Jon Pomplin. SONY MUSIC: Declassified Records proudly announces that the debut CD from Project 814 is now available at Sony Music. Though their catalog page for the release is still in development, you can order the CD right away from their web site at the link provided. We welcome Sony Music and Sony Music Club to the growing list of retailers and distributors of Declassified Records and Project 814's music. NEW MERCHANDISE: Beginning on April 8, 2004, new T-Shirts and other Project 814 items will be available at the official Declassified Records store The COVER-UP. NEW TRACKS COMPLETED:
Today, two additional tracks for the upcoming release from the members of Project 814 called Disguise The Limit were completed at the Cellar Records Studio's. These tracks were both written by Jon Pomplin and are titled "Brother in Arms" and "News At Nine". All Pro Tools work was completed at the Declassified Records studio last week and was integrated into these new releases. A special thank you goes out to Dann Glenn for providing actual combat audio recorded during a battle in the A-Shau Valley, Vietnam. This is very powerful stuff. With the completion of these tracks, the release of the new record is nearly complete. We anticipate a final release date in May of 2004. DISGUISE THE LIMIT: Declassified Records in association with Cellar Records and Declassified Music BMI officially announces that the newest CD from the members of Project 814 will be released under the band name "Disguise The Limit". The decision to change the name was made this past Feb. Project 814 will continue as a solo effort from bassist Jon Pomplin and work has already begun on a new release due in the future. This "new" Project 814 will include guest appearances from several internationally known and grammy award winning artists from a variety of different musical disciplines. . OVERDUE UPDATE:
It has been nearly 5 months since our last update. Quite a lot has happened in that time. A major overhaul was begun on the website including the "WEAPONS" page and the "CONTACTS" page. We will continue to update the site with new and exciting features throughout the next few weeks. This will include the addition of FLASH based graphics and elements along with a new layout. Stay Tuned!!! ENDORSEMENT DEAL: Declassified Records proudly announces Jon Pomplin has signed an Endorsement deal with Morley Pedals. Jon has been using Morley products for many years and is excited about the new relationship. Jon had this to say when recently asked about the Morley deal "I really love there equipment, especially the new Dual Bass Wah pedal. Having been a Morley user for years, it was an honor to officially hook up with the company. I'd never associate my name with anything that I didn't believe in, and I really believe in their products, and they believe in my music. What a great relationship". [NOTE - Jon also endorses GHS Strings and HotWire Basses.] CHANGING OF THE NAME: It has been decided that the newest record the members of Project 814 have been working on will be released under a different band name. The band (which has yet to be named) is already in rehearsals for a major tour starting this summer. The decision was made because the newest CD is a departure from the Project 814 formula. Considered by most to be a bit more main-stream, this record features material written by Jon, Todd Joos, Mark Summers and James Miller. Jon had this to say in a recent interview (to be published soon). "It was a tough decision to make at first because our fans have become familiar with the name. However, I think it serves the music better to make this step. It was more of a band effort as opposed to a solo project, which the first one was. There will be another Project 814 release coming later this year which will feature some major recording artists as guests and will be recorded at the Declassified Records studio I have recently built. All in all I think this is a very positive step for me and the music."Check back for further information on this new direction. The CD is scheduled for release on April 14, 2004. INSOUND: Declassified Records proudly announces a partnership deal with INSOUND an Internet music store. They will be carrying the Project 814 CD's effective immediately. We are excited to have them join with our other national and international retail distributors. Fri, Oct 8, 2003 10:34 AM CDT

SPOTTED!!
Jon was recently spotted sitting in with the well known Chicago blues band "Rabble Rousers" earlier this evening. The "Rabble Rousers" are a favorite in the Chicago blues circuit and it was a great chance for Jon to "stretch his legs" on stage once again. When asked about the band Jon had this to say; "These guys are great musicians and it was a real treat to sit in for a couple numbers. Not only can these cats play the blues the way it's supposed to be play, but they are really cool cats too. I look forward to sitting in again in the future". If you'd like more information on The Rabble Rousers, visit their web site at: http://www.rabblerousersband.com/ Sat, Aug 16th, 2003 12:42 AM CDT

PROJECT 814 in BILLBOARD MAGAZINE: Project 814 "Declassified" was recently listed in Billboard Magazine in the "New Releases" section. Though it comes several months after the actual release of the CD, this proves that the record is on the rise. Thanks to our distributor "Harvest Media" and of course "Cellar Records" for helping to get the "word" out. GUESTBOOK CLOSED: We reget to announce that the Project 814 Guestbook has been closed indefinitely. It seems that the SPAMMERS of the world were using it to get the addresses of our fans so they could bombard them with their bullshit porno and other unwanted marketing. We apologize to anyone who may have recieved this through this dastardly act by the worthless asshole spammers. It is time for the world to unite against these people. How much more porn do our children have to endure before the self-absorbed politicians put a stop to it? Thu, Jun 12th, 2003 8:00 AM CDT
NEW RECORD LABEL:
We are proud to announce the creation of a new recording label called DECLASSIFIED RECORDS. As of this date, this label is now an officially recognized international record label registered in the State of Illinois, USA. The purpose of this label is to provide an alternative outlet for Jon Pomplin's upcoming solo efforts as well as feature work from Jon on other releases. This label doesn't accept demo's and will only rarely release anything not directly associated with Jon's work as a musician, producer and songwriter. The record label is a subsidiary of the music publishing company Declassified Music BMI and is located in their offices west of Chicago Illinois. Wed, Jun 11th, 2003 2:09 PM CDT
NEW DIGITAL SAMPLES FOR DANN GLENN : Jon Pomplin's new editing and recording studio "Declassified Records" has completed another project for world renowned composer Dann Glenn. Digital samples from Dann's newest symphony "Symphony Number 5" have been added to the web for download and streaming. These include movements 1 and 2 along with new editied versions of other works Dann' has recently completed. When asked about the job Jon had this to say: "Working with Dann and his record label on these project is a real joy for me. I think the toughest part of the whole process is trying to create a 1 to 2 minute sample of music from the entire movement without losing the mood. I listen closely to these pieces of music and become so enthralled by them that "cutting the up" almost seems sacreligous. Each piece of music is so unique and special. It's obvious to me that Dann's ancestors (he is a direct decendant of Mozart) would be both proud and amazed at these incredible works of art." Jon used various software tools to create these sample mixes. This includes Pro Tools, Wave Lab and Real Producer. They can be accessed by visiting Dann Glenn's home site at http://www.dannglenn.com. The actual CD releases (on Night Vision Records) will be available soon from Dann's web site. We HIGHLY recommend them to all fans of music, no matter what the age or "genre". BASSES FOR SALE: Two of the hand mae basses that Jon Pomplin used to record the new Project 814 CD are no available for purchase to USA customers. These excellent basses were loanded to Jon by Bert Gerecht, President and CEO of Hot Wire Bass located in Germany. When Jon mentioned he wanted to try a couple differnt instruments to achieve the best tone for the CD in addition to the 2 Hot Wire Basses he already owns, Bert had these fine instruments shipped to the US for Jon to review. After playing them for a short while, it was decided to fetaure each bass on at least one track of the new CD. Further information on these basses can be found on the Project 814 web site in the "Weapons" section of the Suspects Area. Mon, Jun 2nd, 2003 4:22 PM CDT
CD UPDATE: Well things are really moving forward now. The new release date has been set for sometime in September. After completing all of the guitar work, there is only a few bass, keyboard and vocal things to do before the album goes to be mixed. Stay tuned for further updates. The sad news just keeps coming this
month it seems. Today, Noel Redding, bassist and composer for the Jimi Hendrix
Experience passed away peacefully. He joins a host of other great players such as John Entwistle, Ray Brown, Leon Wilkenson and Rana Ross who are now laying dow the grooves in a better place. Noel and Jimi now can jam together again and we suspect the music would be too incredible for mortal man. Jon writes: "As a young player, Noels work insprired me to take my playing to a new level. While all the cats around me were trying to emulate Jimi, I was listening to Noel, trying to find how to best augment great guitarists without being overbearing or too far back. He showed me that innovation with balance can achieve great music". We want to share a cut from a recent interview Noels did with the great composer Dann Glenn: "DG: I've often wondered Noel, did you try and lock into Mitch's drum kit or just play as 1/3 of a trio? NR: No I played my parts. Chas always said I was the time keeper. Even Mitch quoted that at one point, saying it allowed him to go off. All three of us couldn't be doing that. Regarding playing with Jimi, it spurred me to work harder. There again I kicked him up the ass while playing. It was a privilege for me to work with him for three years. They were great times." Pretty much says it all. Noel, you will be missed. Project 814 Wed, May 7th, 2003 8:27 AM CDT
DECLASSIFIED RECORDS WORKS WITH MASTER
COMPOSER DANN GLENN: Jon has just completed a digital editing project for master composer Dann Glenn which will appear on his web site. This involved the adaptaion of Dann's excellent symphonic work for internet listening. Here you can hear some of the best symphonic created since Mozart (whom Dann is related to). RANA ROSS: On a darker note, it is with great sadness that we notified of the passing of the great bassist and artist Rana Ross this past Sunday. Her work has been an inspiration to many and she will be missed by all. Rana showed the world that a woman can be just as creative and successful as any of her male counterparts. She leaves behind a husband of many years. For more information, please visit the official Rann Ross web site at http://www.bassgirl.com "Go in peace Rana and say hello to Jaco for us". Studio Report: We just finished up another 2 songs for the upcoming CD and they sound great. Special thanks goes out to the cats at Fox Television for their understanding regarding the recent cancellation of our spot playing at Taste of Chicago this year. We all have decided that finishing the new CD is the important thing to focus on. We'll be touring sometime late in the year and of course the dates will be announced here first as soon as they are scheduled. Thu, Apr 10th, 2003 11:40 AM CDT
Happy Thursday. We are trying to keep up to date on the news here for those fans that have requested it. We are all finding it quite fun actually. In addition to this, we are videotaping a majority of the sessions for the new CD for future release on VCD and DVD format. After seeing the wonderful piece that Spocks Beard and Chris Robinson did, we feel it is a great way to share the process with those who may be interested. Wed, Apr 9th, 2003 3:37 PM CDT
Hi all,
Things are moving forward quite well on the new CD. Several new songs have been written for the new CD including a track dedicated to the men and women who gave their lives defending freedom. Also, we want to mention that our good friend Dann Glenn (who we met in Japan) has taken on a new challange musically. After many years as the foremost fretless jazz bassist in the world, Dan has decided to move back to playing guitar. Can't wait to hear what he will come up with. http://www.dannglenn.com Wed, Apr 2nd, 2003 12:17 PM CST
UPDATE from the Studio Well, things are progressing nicely towards the release of the follow-up CD to the highly successful 2001 release "Declassified". Mark Todd and I spent several days working on some new tracks that each of us wrote and I have to say that I am really excited about this new release. Just a little history. We began this recording late last year with the intention of putting out the best recording any of us have ever attempted. Though this is the "softmore" release from Project 814, it certainly isn't our second album as a band (and thus, there is no "softmore curse"). We have all been quite busy doing other projects as session musicians and producers (most of which we cannot name due to contractual obligations). To date, we have 4 songs "in the can" ready for final mixing and mastering with another 4 in the works. In a couple of weeks we'll begin work on 2 new pieces. Please feel free to frop by our guestbook and leave us a note. You can sign-up for our official e-mail mailing list where you will be given extra features including some upcoming video shot in the studio during the recording process. Project 814 Wed, Mar 26th, 2003 1:33 PM CST

This is where we'll try to keep a running diary of the recording process, the band happenings and other stuff. We hope that the visitors will enjoy this new feature and we will try our best to keep it updated . SPECIAL THANKS to our friends in Japan. Sales of our CD continue to soar there and we look forward to visiting that wonderful island nation again soon. Mon, Oct 22nd, 2001 5:09 PM CDT
